Dil Bechara star Swastika Mukherjee is a huge star in the Bengali film industry. A few years ago, she made her Bollywood debut in Sushant Singh Rajput starrer Detective Byomkesh Bakshy and was also seen last in his swansong. Here in this interview, Swastika makes some shocking claims about how Bengali actors are not treated equally in the industry. She reveals that unlike South actors or Punjabi stars, Bengali actors are not given great chances or opportunities in Hindi films, unless they prove their worth in Bollywood first. She also adds that the industry insiders have rather welcomed her respectfully, with Vidya Balan and Aamir Khan congratulating her for her fantastic performance in Paatal Lok.
