Dark and unnerving surrealist imagery only ever seen before in your wildest dreams and most vivid nightmares.

“Static” is an experimental smartphone film with the intent of making a sense of unease come over the audience. Though a person is present in the film, their head is covered by a sack, obscuring their identity and creating a sense of unease and mystery for the audience. The dark and surreal imagery is accompanied by an equally dark industrial sound scape, heavily inspired by the works of David Lynch and his stellar ability to draw such a strong and overwhelming atmosphere from just sound alone. The dark visuals draw influence from the early 1900’s artistic movement dadaism, and the experimental films of Hans Richter. Though the film is primarily black and white, flashes of bright colour reminiscent of the Giallo style for film making that originated in the late 1960’s in Italy is also present.
