A small group of #HeartDriven people met in Utica, NY, USA on July 11, 1851 to start the first local group of IOGT.

170 years later, we are called Movendi International. We are the world’s largest social movement for alcohol prevention, for the promotion of the alcohol-free way of life and for social justice through protecting people from alcohol harms. And we are promoting #SoberInspiration through change-makers in communities around the world.

There are billions of people worldwide who enjoy the alcohol-free way of life. And they have different reasons, perspectives and stories to tell about their experiences - especially regarding the benefits of going alcohol-free. We have asked more than 50 of them from 17 different countries. And their stories portray inspiring diversity of people, perspectives and journeys. And their stories also convey a few common themes, across genders, regions, cultures and age groups.

Here is what it means to people from around the world to live alcohol-free, to promote alcohol-free choices, to share the benefits of going sober and to be part of the global social movement that is Movendi International.
