Redemption is a documentary series where viewers explore the lives and careers of a spectrum of highly successful people who have fallen from grace and rose again. In each episode we witness the cause and effect of American icons losing everything, from respect, friends, family, wealth, health, and spiritual stability, and the rewarding redemption of it all.

Many American icons go to great lengths to hide their failures, vices and struggles, while some endure highly publicized falls from grace. NBA legend, George "The Iceman" Gervin is one of the former. In the pilot episode of REDEMPTION we explore the incredible, heartfelt and unpredictable 50 year old story that has never been told publicly, of a kid from Motown that changed how basketball is played and nearly died from a cocaine overdose. Against the backdrop of the music from legendary artists like Marvin Gaye, The Temptations and his close neighbor Aretha Franklin, the true story of "The Iceman" is told first-hand by George himself, NBA legends like Julius Erving, Isaiah Thomas, Michael Jordan and people that watched him rise and fall and rise again. The pilot episode intimately explores how this exceptional NBA legend navigated a disease that claimed so many lives before him, to become a winner in life. With 30 years of sobriety since his retirement, George has created two charter schools for underprivledged children and exemplifies the act or process of making something whole.
