The Oresteia is a collection of three plays that explores the last two murders of the Atreides Curse. The Atreides Curse was as follows: Agamemnon's murder by his wife and her lover and his wife and lover's murder by Agamemnon's son Orestes. The third play explains the end of the curse.

“The Eumenides” tells of how Orestes is pursued to Athens by the vengeful Erinyes for the murder of his mother, Clytemnestra, and how he is tried before Athena and a jury of Athenians to decide whether his crime justifies the torment of the Erinyes.
