A cinematic documentary film (1 hour 53 minutes) captures a year in the life of the community in the upper Dulais Valley, South Wales. Coal mining has all but gone. Only an open cast mine and coal washery remain. They will close in 2021, ending a long history of coal mining in the area.
During the 1984/85 miners strike, lesbians and gays formed a group called Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners'. They traveled from London and visited the Dulais Valley, generously donating money to striking miners and their families. The story is dramatised in the film 'Pride'. The bond between LGSM and the local community remains to this day and regular visits are made to the upper Dulais Valley.
