2020 has been a year like no other. Sad to say it's been that for a lot of the wrong reasons.

One of the good things that happened this year is that Kyle Camerer and I jumped into a competition called Straight8,

The Straight8 competition is held in conjunction with the Cannes Film Festival and winners from this competition have their work shown at Cannes.

Theres a couple catches though:
- entrants have to shoot out a roll of 8mm film
- edit IN CAMERA
- produce a soundtrack
- ship the footage (WITHOUT PROCESSING OR EDITING) overseas
- allow the film to be processed, mated to the soundtrack and be JUDGED before the filmmakers have seen any footage whatsoever

So no pressure.

Amazing because we entered and we won the 2020 Cannes Selection with this, our film "Oasis".

"Had there been no Pandemic, we'd be at Cannes."
Words that I never thought I'd have to say.
