Converging time-space in search of the truth. Gathering strength in the spirit realm of matriarch blood memory, simultaneously embodying mother-daughter-grandmother. Weaving legacy braids for the unborn child. Shaking foundations to let loose the healing salve. Rattling the skeletons in her closet one word, one breath, one heartbeat at a time. ‘Straight, No Chaser’ is a new solo performance work currently in development by Olivia C. Davies. Inspired by Olivia’s recent shift into motherhood, the project is a semi-autobiographical dance-theatre, hybrid performance, filmed in studio at the Dance Centre and along the Kitchisippi (The Great River) in the Ottawa Valley.
