Nomzamo is a short film that highlights the financial challenges of a female street vendor during the COVID 19 pandemic. This film was inspired by the dire circumstances of people living in informal settlements during the national lockdown. The lead character embodies her name “Nomzamo” which means “She who tries/makes a plan.” The film title is also derived from the shooting location called Nomzamo Park. It is an ode to the thriving community living below the poverty line in the midst of the Corona Virus global pandemic.
