Murmurs / Μουρμουρίσματα is a rhythmical journey through moving image and sound, exploring hierarchy and domination in ecology, sound, politics and perspective. It talks of swelling sounds (artificial vs natural), a swelling economy (global vs domestic), and a moulding of our environment in the wrong direction under a hierarchical overtone.

The sound of birds in London (that have to sing at night in order to be heard over a background of traffic noise) are woven with the sounds of fireworks. The latter represent the new 'divine', a man-made dominance in the acoustic environment; a whistling noise created with 'intellect' and 'science'. These fireworks dominate wildlife and force birds into flight. Some birds that are not meant to fly at night, unable to see and navigate properly, risk getting killed in these unnatural instances of forced flight. This is but one iteration of dominant culture.
