Disney/Pixar's "Up" Trivia
"Up" is the third Pixar film to be scored by composer Michael Giacchino, following "The Incredibles" and "Ratatouille." What director, Pete Docter, wanted out of the music most was the emotion. Giacchino delivered with a character theme-based score. He compared the film to opera since each character has a unique theme that changes throughout in the story. His score won an Academy Award, Grammy Award, Golden Globe Award. It is also the first Pixar film Oscar win for a musical score.
