Malebolge is a provocative and grotesque point of view about the rise of the far right authoritarian in Brazil that recognizes in this historical moment aesthetic, structural and narrative consonances with “Saló or the 120 days of Sodom”, directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini and inspired in the work of Marquis de Sade, and it’s allegories for the sadism in italian fascism. It recreates the Divine Comedy’s infernal Dantesque geography: Antiferno, the Circle of Manias, the Circle of Shit and the Circle of Death, where the connections of the Bolsonaro family in the murder of Marielle Franco appears.
