Sixth part of the full film broken into sections: Gate Six is about Dad as a painter and decorator. In this section of the work I embody, with Nick my colleague here, the painter and decorator working for the council painting school playgrounds and sports fields. The tension between working and playing is captured in the story of the Navy Club's demise in the 70s. Work as part of one's spare time and work as work are embodied in this section . Little Blue Man is a walking performance project exploring grief, memory, ancestry, ex-service social clubs and familial mythology. The performance film is the culmination of several indoor and outdoor explorations and photo journeys stemming from a first autobiographical work 'My Sister, My Angel' presented in Coventry in 1996 culminating in a walking performance presented in Wootton Fitzpaine, Dorset in 2015. This final edit brought all elements together.
