The inspiration for this project came from recent news events that have severely impacted McMaster and how this project was to be done. Initially, the two of us wanted to be featured in person in a sort of sketch comedy routine featuring animation. However, we are not able to meet in person at this time so we needed to find a new solution for how to complete this assignment. Also, we lost access to the equipment rental so we were restricted to using just our cellphone cameras. This meant we needed a plot that would work with these new restrictions so we took to popular cinema and most prominently Cloverfield as inspiration for this video.
Things that we know we need to improve on is the sound variation and the effects. This would also include redesigning the monster with photoshop and illustrator. As well as adding extra effects to improve the atmosphere. The colour balancing could also use some more work, but the editing had more of a focus during the creation of the fine cut. We did not collaborate very much with the filming and editing process but now that we have a finished product we can look back and agree on what to improve for the final cut.
