For three years, Sor Maria bilocated to the New World and converted tens of thousands of Native Americans to the Catholic faith without leaving her convent in Spain. Her amazing spiritual experiences brought attention to the Spanish Inquisition who examined her twice. Maria visited the New World over 500 times and the Jumanos called her, "The Woman in Blue." There is a legend in Texas, that the morning after her last visit bluebonnet flowers grew everywhere Maria's cape touched the ground.
