InsideOut is a short film that aims to articulate the complex feedback loop that exists between our subjective experience and the external world.
We receive data from the external world, and uniquely witness ourselves processing it, projecting it onto the walls of our interiors, and then acting from that experience, thus producing data.
The film uses a combination of CG animations and 360 footage taken from the eye of an eagle above the vast Karoo desert.
The film premiered at UndertheDome, Cape Town, ZA, the first full dome film festival in Africa at the Iziko planetarium. The film was produced in collaboration with the UCT Centre for Curating the Archive, as well as Iziko Museums. It has since been shown at the Boulder International Film Festival, USA.
