It all started when Kapten fired off the first commands, "Wood is over the river!"
A bunch of us collected giant logs with fungus growing on it. We later at the fungus, which tasted like meat (wild mushroom).
As the others fixed up curry and sambal, I jumped on the back of Nazir's motorbike. We drove in and he eyed out some giant bamboo. He hacked and I watched. We brought the bamboo back to the tribe to prepare sticky rice. It took several hours of smoking to cook through.
"Slowly, slowly" as the Kapten says.
The entire day was food. We didn't move an inch unless it was to make more food. We spent the entire day celebrating indigenous Melayu food in rural Kedah, Malaysia.
