What happens when the everyday objects we own look back at us?

Inanimate Life is a short experimental film about a teenage boy, Calvin, who is making his breakfast as he does every other day. The only difference is, is that we, the viewer will be watching through the perspective of everything that Calvin interacts with. The title itself is an oxymoron because giving life to an inanimate object is a contradiction in itself, which is the idea of the experimental film. The film gives these objects character - a life where we will experience our own world through their perspectives, seeing and hearing everything they do. Instead of us looking into the fridge alongside Calvin, we distance ourselves from Calvin and align ourselves with what the inanimate objects sees. Throughout the experimental film, the journey of Calvin making his everyday breakfast meal will be perceived through the 'eyes' of a range of common household items. The perspective of the milk traveling from the fridge to the kitchen counter looking; one of several containers sitting at the back of the cupboard when Calvin reaches for the peanut butter; and the plate watching Calvin drop bread on top of it from a worm eye's angle; are all the different camera angles used to illustrate the unique and different perspectives that we can see as an inanimate object.
