Here are some more helpful positioning and installation tips:

Choose a versatile tie down spot that will be convenient for all types of loads. Front and rear corners are often optimal.
To determine extra tie down spots, load the trailer with everything you normally haul. Move the cargo around until you’re happy with the weight distribution and set the rings down.
Check before drilling to make sure there are no struts or wires on the underside of your tie down spot.
It’s best to drill through metal crossmembers to install tie down rings. If that won't work, install backing plates on the underside of your mounting surface.
