There are bicycle trailers which weigh 60 pounds or more. To keep the weight down, I used a good quality Eureka Solitaire tent which is very waterproof and exceptionally well ventilated for humid conditions. It is not quite a free standing tent and requires it be staked down. The tent loops are attached to hooks on the tent frame to support the tent. Total weight is about 30 pounds which makes it much easier to pull up steep hills.
In this video, the trailer is being pulled by a 500 watt ebike and optionally by pedal power on this 3 speed ebike. The aerodynamic shape of this tent reduces air resistance as well.
The trailer has support legs which can be seen pointing up at the front of the trailer. This was changed by mounting them closer to the center of the trailer to reduce the trailer width. Upon arriving at the destination, the two front legs are lowered and locked in place. The trailer is then unhooked from the bicycle and needs no further setup.
