A team of local volunteers is restoring 'Gamecock', the last surviving oyster yawl that was built in Whitstable and dredged for oysters off the coast. Our aim is to restore this piece of maritime heritage (she's registered as a National Historic Vessel) and make her available to both residents and visitors to experience the sea, learn about our maritime past, enjoy the experience aboard and the traditional skills for maintaining her. Gamecock is a boat for everyone and with your donation, we can restore her and welcome you and your family aboard.
