Synopsis
“A dancing figure desperately tries to unite with its reflection”. This experimental animated film is an autobiographical metaphor. It embodies my personal emotional experiences with anxiety and the feeling losing directions - the feeling of helplessness in front of powerful, uncontrollable external forces. Gaku is a cathartic work for myself; it gives voice to my desperate desire to hang onto bits of clarity and hope. The film shows my own longing towards self-alignment and self-preservation.
