Video Dance

The iron border wall separating Mexico and the United States measures 1,123 km. To the west of Mexico, in Tijuana, it begins in the middle of the water as if to cut the ocean itself in two.
With a choreography inspired by the Rite of Spring by Pina Bausch and the interweaving sounds of waves and the song The Human Game by Lisa Gerrard and Pieter Bourke, a woman dances. Like the waves of the ocean that intermingle between the iron poles that make up the wall, the dancer's body sets it in motion, falling and rising, vibrating, seeking to dance freely despite the barriers, fighting against a damaged femininity and expressing the intrinsic freedom of female body.
Her voice reads a poem, in the hollow of the ear, to recall the music that accompanied her body and illustrates what makes her heart beat, carrying within her the women and girls who no longer have a voice, in a city symbol of the borders fabricated by the humans that dominate people's existences and movements in pain, symbol of a human hierarchy of conquered territories, the women bodies included.
