It's been an absolute honor to curate this FREE THE WORK playlist and shine a spotlight on these fierce, talented Asian women, transgender, and gender nonconforming filmmakers. They truly are the future of cinema.

I created this playlist to highlight and celebrate our spirit, grit, voice, and films. There were many, many more artists who I wanted to include. This list represents just the tip of the iceberg of our amazing film community.

Like any endeavor that I take on, I wanted to be as thorough as possible. I thought about my favorite API creators, combed through the FTW database, and reached out for recommendations.

Through this process, I discovered how much bigger our community of creators is, and am in awe of our collective body of work and its beauty, impact, and scope. Our work spans genre, style, form, medium, meaning, time, and space. The possibilities are limitless. I hope that you take a look at these films and see this for yourself.

To all the Asian women and TGNC filmmakers and beyond: I see you. I hear you. Keep fighting, keep filming, keep creating. I'm cheering you on.
