Anthony "Amp" Elmore is Memphis 1st 35mm Independent Feature Filmmaker. White Memphis Shelby County Film Commissioner Linn Sitler used her power as film Commissioner to deny Elmore the prestige and honor of being Memphis first Independent Filmmaker.
Elmore notes that via a "White Supremacist" Memphis Culture a White like Linn Sitler could not bear the reality that a Black man from the Black Community of "Orange Mound" is Memphis 1st Independent Filmmaker.
Linn Sitler did not announce the film being made to the Memphis public. When the film premiered in 1988 she did not attend the premier or announce the movie premier.
Linn Sitler in concert with the Memphis media never acknowledged the film. The L.A. Times archives list the production of the film in November of 1987.
In 34 years since the production of the film Linn Sitler has never invited Elmore to anything film related. In 2018 Linn Sitler produced a "Modern Memphis Movie Making Historical Marker." She along with the White Memphis media wrote Elmore out of Memphis Movie History.
While Elmore's film gained National and International Distribution the Memphis media will not acknowledge this Black Memphis film.
Elmore in production of his current 2021 film asks Shelby County Assessor Melvin Burgess to assist with the film production.
