Zig Zach’s Kart Racing

This project is a kart racing game with a heavy emphasis on the sound design. I make music under the moniker Zig Zach. Use the headphones attached to the computer and the mouse and keyboard for the game. There will also be 3 additional compositions outside the game listened to via the mp3 players.

Biography

Zach Vane (b. 1997 in Marietta Georgia, USA) is a musician, sound designer, and producer based in Deland, Florida. Zach is currently working on his Bachelor of Arts in Digital Arts from Stetson University. Zach’s works utilize wavetable synthesis, foley sounds, experimental scoring and a disregard for genre conventions. Zach makes music under the moniker, Zig Zach. Zach has released two EP’s under this name, “Quantum Leap” an electronic dance album, and “Zig Zach’s Mindblowers,” a glitch hop album.

As a producer Zach has worked with the Irish duo Donegal Hill, an Indie artist TJ Westkie and Jessenia Trusty. As a sound designer Zach has done work for Stetson University Theatre department, Valeria Servigna. Zach also has done freelance work revolving around production, sound design and studio session work.

Artist Statement

Zach Vane is a musician, sound engineer, producer and sound designer. Zach’s work can be seen throughout multiple mediums and musical genres, such as trip hop, dubstep, metal and punk rock. Zach started out playing the clarinet in 2009 and has also learned to play guitar, bass and drum set. Zach also creates audio for film, video games, sound design and audio production.

Zach is influenced by a variety of artists, composers and musicians. Some of the most prominent ones would include John Williams, Tipper, Pink Floyd, Jade Cicada, Papa Roach, Seether and Percy Grainger. Zach likes to use Ableton Live as

he feels it gives him the most freedom and creativity. His favorite plugin is Serum, a wavetable synthesizer that he has used on every electronic song since obtaining it. With the combination of these two tools, Zach has been able to maximize his workflow and has put out two EP’s, “Quantum Leap” and “Zig Zach’s Mind Blowers,” under the name Zig Zach, and has an album in the works.

Zach hopes to spread his love of music in every medium he works in. Whether in sound design, producing or performing as a musician, Zach wants to bring joy, love, happiness, and hope through his different forms of music.
