Set in 1918 on the outskirts of France. Perry and Chuck have been forgotten by their own army. They wait and wait and wait, slowly losing their minds and their patience with each other. Their world changes when an undetonated artillery shell falls into their trench. Perry starts to fall in love with the bomb, naming her Doris, elated that he finally has someone to talk to. Chuck starts getting suspicious of Doris, not wanting Perry to accidentally set it off. When Chuck walks in on Perry making love to Doris, they fight. Perry violently kills Chuck in order to defend his love. Alone at last with Doris, he's able to finally tell her all his jokes.
