The Dead End Film Festival was founded in 2017 by 8a8ysteps (Charlie Freedman & Lucie McMahon). Showcasing experimental short films, alongside performance and visual art installation, DEFF aims to shift our expectations, both of the visual language of cinema and the contexts in which we receive it.

DEFF is an emerging platform and an ongoing conversation for voices that explore alternative cinematic perspectives,in ways that are accessible, spontaneous andvisually subversive.
