Alfred Clah's 1966 masterpiece of experimental cinema, THE INTREPID SHADOWS, in the most enigmatic of a series of shorts made by Navajo filmmakers in Pine Springs, AZ. Shot outside a reservation schoolhouse, it features the haunting imagery of a Yeibichai, creators of the Navajo people, who wanders, searching the landscape for something unknown. Meanwhile, the shadows spin and grow... the only dialogue is a poem by the director.

The soundtrack is by Black and Indigenous ambient artist, Jasmine Wood, from her project Lota Leona and compiled from her record PINK SUN (2020). Lota Leona performed to this film during the BLM uprising in Portland, OR. Purchase and listen to the record here:
