When I discovered that the theme was, ‘Bright,’ I initially began to think about the brightness of light, that is very important in cinema, but I also wanted to think about a different interpretation of the word, by considering the signification of someone who is quick-witted or someone cheerful.
Unfortunately the deadline for this video fell into the period, when in France we have our mock exams - so I was unable to spend as much time as I would have liked to, filming the scenes and editing.
A friend helped me in the realisation of this project, and his name is Gaspard Gimet. He helped with the logistics before the production, for example the installation of the blue screen and we see him twice in the actual film, as he is the one who played both figurants. He was also behind the camera for the first scene at the skating rink and my role was to find what I considered the perfect camera angle. I am also the narrator, I wrote the film and selected each location. I did the majority of the editing, although Gaspard helped me with details that I didn’t have the expertise to complete, such as the blue screen. I directed Gaspard in his role as figurant, and I decided on the wardrobe.
