Songwriter and Grammy®-nominated producer Brian Potter (also known as my dad lol) began his music career in 1960s London ... playing drums in several bands and writing songs for up-and-coming acts (including "Whatcha Gonna Do About It" for Small Faces). In 1963, Potter's band the Embers was asked to appear in the 1963 film "The Yellow Teddybears" (also known as "Gutter Girls" and "Thrill Seekers"), directed by Robert Hartford-Davis. A somewhat scandalous film at the time, it depicted a clique of teen girls who wore yellow teddybears on their lapels once they'd lost their virginity.

Jury's out on the instrumental, but the second song is definitely not an actual Embers tune -- and the "lead singer" of the group is an actor in the movie.

... Rumor has it that the Beatles were initially offered the role of the band (http://bit.ly/2WNMlmO), but turned it down in favor of appearing in their own (first) film in '64. (Probably a wise decision, frankly.)
