This original film project considers the historical repetition of Ghetto and Renaissance in two eras – Counter-Reformation Italy and the recent American past. Repertoire includes Rossi's setting of the Psalm text, Italian works he wrote for the decadent Mantua court, and a bracing reconsideration of Psalm 137 in the spiritual tradition by composer Brandon Waddles (b.1988).
