For my project, I wanted to use color as a way to recognize mood depending on specific spaces women and femme people are in. I incorporated found footage from old animations, french plays, and sci-fi films, in addition to various other free stock footage. At the beginning of the film, it focuses more on comfortability and being happy in one's own element, where there are lots of cool tones used. Then halfway through the film, it starts to focus on anxiety and discomfort in spaces where women become objectified, with the film tinted in various shades of red. I wanted my soundscape to capture the same feelings of comfort/ discomfort within the film, which I believe I accomplished by incorporating more chaotic, fast, and overlapping sounds toward the end. The audio itself is an original recording of the sound of birds but sped up/ slowed down to the point that it becomes warped. The most difficult part of this project was probably organizing the video clips in a way that flowed, as I wanted to make sure there was a narrative, yet I still feel that my message may be a little unclear.
