A dance film that celebrates and pays homage to the Theater St. Gallen, a brutalist formed structure designed by the swiss architect Claude Pailliard. The design is based on the six sided hexagon, a shape which in its equal sided form consists of 720°. With the dancers from the Tanzkompanie Theater St. Gallen, the site specific choreographic scenes take place within the structure, revealing surprising views and perspectives to a building that has triggered every emotion from love to hate. The cement formed theater was inaugurated in 1968 and was met with some strong criticism by the public yet it has withstood the test of time to become a protected architectural landmark. The music, which was specially composed for the film, is born and created from that material with which the theater was constructed from. The film was shot just before the theater was closed as we bid farewell to a building that will undergo extensive renovations for the next couple of years.
