My father, Edward H. Roberts, filmed this during a 1940 engineering department Christmas party at General Electric (Erie Works), and is one of the first in his extensive archive of 8mm home movies. He was a mechanical engineer in household refrigeration and plastics engineering (as well as developing bakelite rocket tubes for the war effort).

Beyond that, I don't know the details... but it is a glimpse of a very different corporate world. The four-barrel rifle is a fascinating artifact, perhaps the embodiment of some bit of office culture now long-forgotten.
