CALLING ALL BOOMERS, I REPEAT CALLING ALL BOOMERS, and not Boomer from the Rowdyruff Boys because I'm talking about the Animated series that was the beginning of an era, The Powerpuff Girls Classic one of if not one the most action-packed animated series to hit Cartoon Network that fit the mark for its action, drama, and its comedic heartwarming storytelling. don't already know, Sugar, Spice, and Everything nice were the three ingredients chosen to make the perfect little girl but Professor Utonium accidentally added an extra ingredient into the concoction the madness that was CHEMICAL X afterward an explosion occurred and thus the Powerpuff Girls were born using their ultimate superpowers Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup dedicate their lives to fighting crime against the forces of evil. This was an experience that no one, not even children from this era will ever experience again and this is a one of a kind show that will never be replicated-"Stares at the Reboot"-N E V E R. Anyway, it was a passion project originally based on a CalArts student film staring our titular heroes called Whoopass Stew by creator Craig McCracken in 1992 it was apparent that the show showed promise an was given a spot on Hanna-Barbera's What a Cartoon! series ran by Fred Seibert(Frederator Studios) at the time; renamed The Powerpuff Girls, to give it more of an identity, there were two pilots of the show to air during the animation block both "Meet Fuzzy Lumpkins" and "Crime 101" but it was apparent the shorts were a hit because after 1996 the show was greenlit and slated for a 1998 release on the newly born Cartoon Network and was the highest-rated premiere on the channel at the time. The series followed Blossom(Cathy Cavadini) the appointed leader, pacifist, and brains of the operation, Bubbles(Tara Strong) the heart, soul and childlike wonder, and Buttercup(E.G Daily) the Brawn, the powerhouse and brute force of the team as they learn to protect the City of Townsville from a rose gallery of villains like Mojo Jojo, "Him", Sedusa, Princess Morbucks, and Fuzzy Lumpkins while staying within The Professor's Curfew and dealing with the daily lives of little girls growing up with superpowers. I enjoyed this series for all the stories it brought us as an audience and it will be missed but at least it ended on good terms and left its legacy behind so Thank You, Craig McCracken, your wife Lauren Faust, Genndy Tartakovsky, and the rest of the crew behind PPG and Hanna-Barbera Cartoons Thanks for the long ride guys it was fun while it lasted, but at least there will always be nostalgia to remind us of what made us the people of today.
