Celebrating China’s most important holiday, the Chinese New Year campaign we produced for LEGO revolves around one of the event’s most important traditions: gifting. We made two videos that take viewers along the travels of a LEGO gift in a city filled with LEGO figures. Creating funny facial expressions, comic storyboards, iconic street decorations and shooting fireworks, our animators cleverly combined the characteristic LEGO humour with traditional New Year practices. To get people into the gifting mood, we also produced a WeChat mini-game that lets people catch falling gift boxes for a chance of winning a LEGO gift card.
