The TF Boys are hot right now. Everywhere they go, thousands of fans follow. And this includes following them into comic book worlds that we helped create for KFC. Their campaign to promote the new WOW bucket consisted of a 40 second digital spot along with an interactive HTML5 animation. Each spot had the TF boys battling a powerful anime style monster.
For the digital spot, we worked with director Jonathan Gao to drop our three heroes into 3D virtual manga world and help save the KFC delivery girl from a threatening monster. The client’s main request was to always have something interesting happening on screen. We followed 70’s and 80’s style Japanese anime as a reference point, and incorporated many different effects without cluttering up the screen. The focus needed to always be on the TF Boys.
