Hell it's been hard finding out about the killer hands in this video. All of my life, in truth. I just found out with proof too. I am going out of my head with the thrill of it. The hands belong to a hero of mine, James Aubrey Crabe. His skill and genius can lead a sane person speechless.

As a hugely successful magician in the 1950s he was known as 'Aubrey'. He was the first person on the very first national television show televised by NBC. He performed illusions and the sleight of hand you see here. You could see him on all the best TV shows, he even performed a whole magic act underwater in his shorts for the show You Asked for It. But it gets better.

If you want to see his eye for beauty take a look at the famous movie Rocky [the first one] and the way James used shadows, gloom and lights to make Stallone into a star. You can see it easily in the opening scenes of the film when Rocky walks down the alley. He was one of the greatest directors of film photography as well as one of the world's greatest sleight of hand artists. He also won an Emmy and was nominated for an Academy Award for direction and cinematography. You could say he was someone special. His friends say he was pretty funny too. Never a dull moment.

I am so pleased to give him credit for the masterful performance you see in this clip. His name was never, ever mentioned anywhere by the studio ... not even on the current IMBD. And like so many of the best he died very young. A crying shame. Please believe me when I say I know great magic and this is the best you will ever see. Pure talent helped by the best of comic actors Hans Conried playing the wonderful face.

Oh and it should be said that this is an example of the brilliance of THE film maker extraordinaire. The man called Walt who changed all of our lives with his band of geniuses at the studio.
