Chuck Jones's pre-1942 Looney Tunes cartoons are infamous for their slow as molasses pacing and abysmal timing (even he thought that of them!), but by far the most infamous of them is "Good Night Elmer", which is often considered to be one of the worst Looney Tunes shorts ever made and the cartoon equivalent of Chinese water torture. So with the help of iMovie, I decided to take a hatchet to this cartoon and see if it could be made watchable in a streamlined, abridged form through the magic of film editing. The end result lops it down from a bloated 6 minute length to a barely 2 minute long short cartoon. Is it a step up or will it still put you to sleep? You decide!
