MY FICTION VOCALIZED IN THE ETERNAL AIR OF GREECE,( in the middle of the Parnassus.)
On February 24, 2016 the daring theater director and actor Thiago Arrais declaimed at the temple of Apollo in Delphi, Greece, a long excerpt from my fantastic fiction The Other Shape of the Island of Goa. It is nevertheless a beautiful aesthetic event. The video shown above were transmitted that day live to a theater in Fortaleza on a big screen on the stage. It was an exuberant and entirely new poetic experience. I wrote under the emotional impact of that performance the following text:
My friends, I received a beautiful birthday gift the day before yesterday, February 24, 2016: a fiction of mine, entitled A outra forma da ilha de Goa, or No Oximbalo: cosmogony of the reconstruction of the next universe, which is actually now the penultimate chapter of my novel Maria do Monte, Jorge Amado's unpublished novel, was deployed, vocally, materially and spiritually through an intuitive dramatic poetic theatrical CINEmagic ritual by actor and theater director and performer Thiago Arrais in the sacred territory of the oracle of Apollo's temple, the Oracle of Delphi, at the summit of Mount Parnassus, the mountain of the Muses, 2700 meters above sea level, Thessaly, Greece. First the cineastator begins his cinema of visual heart, an infinite intimate cinema, with a propitiatory invocation by Paulo Vanzilini, invocation and call, while sipping a bottle of wine as an offering to the great and cosmic tutelary spirits of the place, he makes some incisively necessary comments about the current situation of the navel of the earth, picks up from the ground the pages of the text I wrote and begins to read them from the beginning while he walks along the terraces and trails - many of them forbidden - in which he dared to penetrate for the reading, gleaning through the recesses, undenied gaps, intromissions-messages and enlargements of the landscape in invisible birds of austerities and steps that accumulate rhythmically with the trail of the voice walking phonetically through the chained phrases of the text. Footsteps, breaths, walk-recitation-kinematics that, you will notice with immense certainty, founds here perhaps a new and still evanescent form of artifusion, a new genre of something that has not been named in the great plaza of artistic genres. But this is the new cinema, cinemagic, the cinema of a single man-singer-poet, an intimate uni-cinema that is so intimate that it is so, and is there anything more intimate than a deep reading of a poetic text, of a long narrative poem where we see with the eyes of the one who recites-films and at the same time walks in the same space of everything, and in this we follow to see where it goes, unravel. Perception that the words of the text read as presented, if aurify and surround all the perfomance of a sacred poetic signifier protection and that any intromission in this reading cinematografincante that comes from the old and careworn world banal globo fool emanated from it becomes, you will realize in several comic moments, loses any strength or tiny portance, fall without any relief or power. This cinematic verbal-auditory figural mote of someone reading a poem, a short story, a narration or a film shot through a place makes all the power of the text progressively amplify to the maximum state of modeling creative-conforming energy. Until this moment I had never seen or watched something so innovative regarding the new ways of emanating poetry, fiction, literature and images. Here a new alloy has been created through the immersion of my tale Oximbalo..., with the beneficent and immanent total, powerful and infinite help of the Muses of Parnassus themselves, creators of all the arts, and with the telluric and celestial protection of Apollo, God of poetry, of singing and now of the inductive and deepening poefilm, the best way to delve into the topomitic secrets of a being-landscape written, spoken, filmed, re-presented, unleashed and thus, again, liberated!
