When children experience academic success they find that it feels good. Once they become successful, they start expecting success rather than hoping for it. When a person expects to be successful, they become a life-learner. I
measure my success by the number of students I have helped become life-learners. If a child struggles during instruction, I make sure that they leave school with a comfortable understanding about the work accomplished during the day. If I need to sit with the child at recess, then I can provide one-on-one tutoring to help that child succeed. If a child loves recess and feels punished by missing it, then we do a working lunch where the main conversation centers on how to solve whatever problem the day's lesson has presented. If a student's understanding requires more time than a recess or lunch can provide, then I hold a small group tutoring session after school. Everyone learns at different speeds. I am willing to take a student from where they are and deliver them to the point of comprehension and understanding in every topic I teach."

"Years ago, I invented an alter-ego called 'Math-Daddy: The Defender of Intelligence and the Enemy of Ignorance: His motto is 'Gimme more, Gimme more, Gimme more MATH!' I wear a special Math-Daddy costume made from an old Superman emblem where the 'S' is substituted by the letters 'MD'. I tell the children that Math-Daddy makes math so simple even a cave man can do it. One group of students enjoyed this so much that they made their own comic book series. starring Math Man as the main character. He fought the evils of Negative Man and Inverse Girl with the help of his trusty sidekick, Number Boy. The Math Man and Number Boy comic series
became so popular that it was placed in the school library and offered to the entire school as a check out selection."

Oak Pointe Elementary School Principal James Stephens sings Andrysczyk's praises, "In this era of negative public perception of education, he gets results with high expectations. By teaching our math curriculum with fidelity, he breaks out of the pack through his energetic implementation of the standards. When the science of our researched-based curriculum is mul tiplied by the innovative art of his teaching, the product of that balanced equation is student achievement. Mathematics achievement leads the way to our 'Excellent' rating on the school report card. Who says elementary teachers can't teach math?"

Andrysczyk graduated with a bachelor of science in elementary education from Columbia International University. He earned a master of educational leadership from the American College of Education. He is the recipient of nine math and science grants. Andrysczyk has taught for twenty years.
