Starting May 16, there's an international performance festival here in Edmonton!
It's called Zero Gravity International Performance Art Festival.
They welcome all performers and audience members, including the Deaf community.
That means ASL interpretation is provided in a safe and respectful space.
This is also financially accessible because you pay what you can - $1, $5, $10 - up to you.
This is their first year providing ASL interpretation in partnership with NICA.
We recognize NICA's efforts with budget and schedule constraints - thank you!
Please know that most performances are movement and visual, so you will not need to worry about looking back and forth between interpreter and performer.
Interpreting is available during specific days and times, but they will stand by until Deaf attendees arrive and inform that they use ASL, then they will be ready for the show.
That schedule for interpreting will be shown after I finish!
For the full performance schedule over several days, please check the website:

Lastly, you know I encourage Deaf folk to participate in the arts and performance community.
With this group making an effort to be inclusive, I hope a few of us will show up!
Thanks and hope to see you there!
