Режиссер и Художница Юля Цветкова находится под домашним арестом. Oна имеет разрешение идти в 500 метрах от своего дома. Как далеко 500 метров?

В январе, на Фейсбыке, Anna Khodrevya сделала пост с фотографами разных «версия прогулок на 500 метров.» Они с Юлей старались понять границу.

Николь предлагает, что мы сможем быть солидарном с Юлей не только в голове, а в теле. Как мы себя чувствуем солидарности физическо? Как мы можем понять, как далеко 500 метров? Мы можем ходить пешком и считать дистанцию. Мы ходим за руку и чувствуемся, что мы не одни. Мы вместе. И Юля с нами. Мы ходим с ней 500 метров от дома, и мы понимаем эту границу в теле.

В TV Bar в Берлине, никто пока не слышал про Юлии Цветковой. Николь расказывала про Юлии и пригласили все в клубе на хождение солидарность. Мы не знали, будут ли люди участвовать, но 36 человек пошел с нами. Николь показывала слайд про Юлии, и люди прямо там нашли информации на их смартфоны.

For this action, we used Revolutionary Practice #37: Make the road by walking,” from the book Performing Revolutionary: Art, Action, Activism by Nicole Garneau.

Theater director and artist Yulia Tsvetkova has been under house arrest since November 22, 2019. She has permission to walk 500 meters from her home for one hour each day. How far is 500 meters?

In January 2020, Anna Khodrevya, Yulia’s mother, made a Facebook post with photographs featuring various “versions of a 500-meter walk.” She and Yulia tried to understand that distance. Nicole proposes that I we can be in solidarity with Yulia not only in our heads, but in our bodies. How do we physically feel solidarity? How can we understand how far 500 meters from home is? We can walk and measure the distance. We walk hand in hand and feel that we are not alone. We are together. And Yulia is with us. We walk with her 500 meters from home, and we understand that border with our bodies.

At TV Bar in Berlin, no one had yet heard about Yulia Tsvetkova. Nicole talked about her and the cases against her, and then invited folks on a Solidarity Walk. We didn’t know whether people would want to participate, but 36 people came with us. Nicole showed a slide about Yulia, and people looked up information about her on their phones right then and there.
