In March our residency at Dixon Place in Manhattan was brought to a sudden stop, due to the pandemic. The play we rehearsed about a distant and eerie future, suddenly became much more relevant than we could ever have imagined.

What had been a highly physical production, with long movement sequences and intimate choreography serving the storytelling, is now an intimate zoom call between a young couple. Theatre is meant to reflect the times we are in, and suddenly zoom, face time and other virtual channels have become the reality of our communication.

Instead of seeing two bodies entwined on stage, now we as an audience are looking directly at the actors as if we were the recipients of their call, their words of love, their frustrated shouts. The actors’ inability to touch or comfort one another feels achingly familiar.

We are so happy to stream a virtual version of the play at Reykjavík Fringe Festival with our actors Léerin Campbell and Chris Nester. Directors Sólveig Eva and Anne Windsland. Producers Bergdís Júlía Jóhannsdóttir, Tinna Þorvalds Önnudóttir and Anna Korolainen Crevier.
