Vibration
－ a site-specific installation to engage the relationship among people, sounds, and the surrounding environment.

The project means to investigate the uncertain relationship between the human and the surrounding environment he is in, through observing the vibration of acoustic microscopic particles. In this project, I have set up a real-time voice visual interactive system that integrates voice and the environment of human beings, and put forward a vision of an ever-changing picture of human voices in different time and space. Microscopic particles are the basic components of human body and the physical world. Energy flows within the human world following peculiar patterns. I tried to visualize the trajectories of microscopic particles of sound waves in various environments in different times and space, and to create a sound-visual interactive system.

In the project I have created a multi-sound database, and used a variety of media forms to explore the sound library in different time and space. The artificially generated real-time changes in sounds are presented visually. I also used a couple of audio and special effects processing software, accompanied by different amplitudes of sound waves, to generate random animation and create a unique audio-visual experience.

Finally, I designed and explored other methods to create a system that manifests many factors ranging from population, time and space and actively reacts to their changes. Therefore, the project enables me to think about the relationship between human beings and the surrounding environment, and to explore the visual presentation of media.
