Sometimes you have to ride the storm in order to get to the rainbow and NW Group did just that… literally!
Friday night’s wild weather conditions saw 51mm of rainfall in just 30 minutes, damaging just about everything in its path, including the stage structure for this year’s Tropfest. Despite battening down the hatches, the site took a beating in the severe wind conditions. In the aftermath of the storm, engineers deemed the safest approach would be to de-rig the structure affected by the torrential weather.
NW Group had one goal in mind, that the show must go on! Our team worked with Humm and the Tropfest team to come up with a solution for the event that was due to take place on Saturday. Our operations and project management teams rallied together and kicked into action, working through the night to reschedule crew and put together a new equipment list, we managed to liaise with a LED trailer supplier and had everything rebuilt and ready to go at the new location opposite the original site by Saturday afternoon. We would like to say a big thank you HUMM for having us along for the ride and to our hard-working team, it was a pleasure to execute/rescue Tropfest 2019!
