Trimming (in joint slang) is the action of cutting with scissors the leaves from the marihuana buds.
The trimmigrants are people who come to California looking for job in marihuana farming. G & D were there during three years in a row to work in the farm located in the Emerald Triangle and decided to shoot a movie about their trip and the cannabis industry in U.S.A.
