Today I have the pleasure of speaking to Matt Hill who is the founder and Chief Environmental Officer of the global reforestation non-profit One Tree Planted. Matt left a successful career representing the manufacturers of sustainable food packaging, later in life, to create the non-profit One Tree Planted in 2014 with a mission to make it simple for people to give back to the environment and combat deforestation and climate change.

One Tree Planted has as its mission to help people understand the importance of trees and make it easy for them to plant trees. As a father and nature-lover, Matt is committed to making sure future generations can enjoy the great outdoors.

With reforestation projects around the globe One Tree Planted started with a project of just 20,000 trees back in 2014 and growing to plant 4 million trees in 2019 alone. They have become one of the largest and most recognized tree planting organizations in North America and around the world and have as of 2020 planted 11 million trees.

In our conversation today we learn more about One Tree Planted and its work and a little about Matt and his passion for the outdoors and what living his best life means to him. We talk about his journey to combining his passion for the environment and his entrepreneurial background to set up his own business and living his purpose. He also shares the legacy he is looking to leave and reveals what living a legendary life means to him and also some of the lessons he has learned in his life.
