When Toyota reached out to me to create content for the release of their brand new Prius Prime EV, I jumped on the opportunity to create something unique and fun. I shot this spot on two very powerful but opposing tools, the Insta 360 One X and the Panasonic S1H.

Using the Insta360 on this spot was incredibly fun, I wanted to create this sporadic edit with nonstop movement, the ability to reframe 360 footage in post has been a game changer for my editing. I was even able to create fake bird’s eye drone shots by sticking the 360 camera outside the window of the car with a long pole, pretty convincing huh? I shot the final warp-speed sequence using the One X’s built in time-lapse functionality which looks incredibly cool. I still can’t believe what a $500 camera these days can do.

The Panasonic S1H was amazing for capturing burst stills of the car in motion and 24mp was just high enough for me to reframe the match cuts however I liked. The whole spot was edited in Premiere Pro and After Effects, aligning and reframing was a bit of a tedious process but absolutely worth it in the long run.
